Adapter Sleeves

Adapter sleeves are the most commonly used component for locating bearings with tapered bores on cylindrical shafts. They can be used on both smooth and stepped shafts.

Adapter sleeves consist of a bushing, lock nut, and lock washer (or locking clip). Adapter sleeves with lock nut and lock washer are interchangeable only as a complete set; parts from different sources are not interchangeable. Adapter sleeves are easy to install and do not require additional fixings to the shaft.

Locknut and Lockwasher

Most adapter sleeves include a locknut and lockwasher (or lock plate) to secure the sleeve to the shaft, preventing unintended movement due to vibrations or external forces.

Ease of Installation and Removal

The design simplifies mounting and dismounting of bearings without requiring additional machining or precise shaft tolerances, making maintenance more efficient.

Versatility Across Shaft Types

They can be used on both plain and stepped shafts, allowing bearings to be positioned anywhere on a plain shaft or precisely on a stepped shaft with an L-shaped spacer ring.
