Cam Follower Bearings

Stud-type track rollers or Stud-type cam followers are a category of cam follower bearings characterized by a threaded stud (shaft) that allows direct mounting to machinery. They consist of a rotating outer ring (equipped with rollers or needles) and a fixed inner stud, making them ideal for applications requiring precise motion control under heavy loads.

ZMS supplies stud-type track rollers in China for 15 years. No matter you need famous brand or high quality products from Chinese factory, we can quote for you based on our rich sources.

Main series:
KR, KRE series, KR,KRVE series, NUKR,NUKRE series, PWKR…2RS series.

01

Standard Stud-Type Cam Followers

Design: The stud is concentric (aligned with the bearing’s central axis).
Applications: General-purpose radial load applications (e.g., conveyor systems, cam-driven linkages).
Advantages: Simple installation, cost-effective, widely available.

02

Eccentric Stud-Type Cam Followers

Design: The stud is offset (eccentric) from the bearing’s centerline, allowing for adjustable alignment.
Applications: Situations requiring fine-tuning of follower position (e.g., correcting misalignment in cam systems).
Advantages: Eliminates the need for shims or complex adjustments during installation.

03

Stainless Steel Stud Type Cam Follower Bearings

Design: Includes a cylindrical outer ring with a flange, a central stud (concentric or eccentric), and an inner ring that rotates around the stud axis.
Material: Stainless steel (with a minimum of 10.5% chromium for corrosion resistance).
Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to rust and corrosion, suitable for acidic or corrosive environments.
Application:
Food processing (e.g., conveyor systems, packaging machinery).
Chemical processing (e.g., handling corrosive materials).
Marine environments (e.g., ship machinery, offshore equipment).

Caged vs. Full Complement Roller Designs

Depending on your speed and load requirements, ZMS provides two internal configurations:

  • Cage-Guided (CF / KR Series): Utilizes a needle roller and cage assembly. This is the standard choice for continuous, high-speed cam rotation with lower friction.
  • Full Complement (CFV / KRV Series): Packed with the maximum number of needle rollers without a cage. This design sacrifices some speed capability but delivers the absolute highest dynamic and static load ratings for heavy-duty, slow-moving applications.

Integrated Stud Design for Easy Cantilever Mounting

Unlike standard yoke type rollers that require a separate shaft and dual supports, ZMS Cam Follower Bearings (Stud Type Track Rollers) feature an incredibly robust, integrated threaded solid stud. This allows for quick and secure cantilever mounting directly onto machine frames using a single standard nut. The stud is engineered from high-strength steel to resist the severe bending stresses associated with overhung loads in cam mechanisms and linear conveyors.

Hex Socket Heads for Rapid Installation & Maintenance

To minimize machine downtime during assembly or replacement, our cam followers are available with a convenient hexagonal socket machined directly into the stud head. This design allows technicians to easily secure the bearing with a standard hex key while tightening the mounting nut. Additionally, the stud houses axial and radial lubrication holes, ensuring easy access for grease replenishment even in tight automation setups.

Eccentric Collars for Precise Track Alignment

In complex automated transfer lines, perfect alignment of mating tracks is notoriously difficult to achieve. ZMS offers cam followers with an integrated eccentric collar (CFE or KRE series) shrunk onto the stud. By simply turning the stud, engineers can steplessly adjust the radial position of the outer ring relative to the track. This instantly eliminates unwanted clearance, guarantees smooth load distribution, and compensates for manufacturing tolerances in the machine frame.
