What is the difference between 3200 and 5200 series bearings?

Generally, they are dimensionally interchangeable. The 3200 series follows ISO standards (common in Europe/Asia), while the 5200 series is the North American designation. ZMS offers both designations to meet global standards.

Can double row angular contact bearings take tilting moments?

Yes. Because the contact lines diverge outwards (O-arrangement), ZMS double row angular contact bearings provide high stiffness and are highly suitable for accommodating tilting moments.

Thanks to their back-to-back internal configuration and a standard contact angle (typically 30°), these bearings provide a highly rigid bearing arrangement. Modern “A” Design (No Filling Slots)

Older generations of double row bearings featured a “filling slot” to allow more balls to be inserted, which severely compromised their ability to take heavy thrust loads on the slotted side.
ZMS utilizes the modern “A” suffix optimized internal design. Our bearings do not have filling slots. This ensures they can deliver identical, maximum thrust load capacities in both directions and can operate safely at much higher speeds without the risk of balls clipping the slot edge.

Integrated Sealing Solutions (2RS & ZZ) for Harsh Environments

Unlike many single-row precision bearings that run in clean, oil-lubricated gearboxes, double-row bearings are often exposed to dirt, dust, and moisture.
ZMS offers double row angular contact bearings ready-to-mount with integrated sealing solutions:

2RS (Contact Lip Seals): Made from durable NBR rubber (NBR), these seals provide excellent protection against heavy contamination and water ingress, perfect for agricultural and outdoor applications.
ZZ (Metal Shields): Provide non-contact protection against larger debris while allowing for higher rotational speeds and minimal friction.
All sealed and shielded bearings are “greased for life” at the ZMS factory with premium high-temperature grease, rendering them completely maintenance-free.
